what social media means to our generation

These days, social media isn’t just an app on our phone, it became a part of us. Unlike previous generations, we don’t just use social media, we live on it and it’s a part of what defines us whether we like it or not.
most teenagers tend to compare themselves to influencers on platforms like TikTok or instagram who seem to have flawless lives, which pressures us to be perfect and imitate them by posting cute selfies with silly captions and hashtags but also by copying their lifestyle as well as dressing and acting like them.
In reality, their lives aren’t as perfect as they seem. They struggle too, and much of what we see is edited, filtered, or photoshopped.
People care so much about online validation and staying up to date with the new trends that they forget to express themselves and embrace their own style.
Social media is complicated. And even tho older generations might criticize it, they don’t fully understand what it means to grow up with your entire life online.
